HORSEMANSHIP TRAINING
Over time, my experiences have led me to discover that horses deserve much more credit than they often receive from people due to a lack of understanding and, because of this, it has led me to become more intrigued and involved in true horsemanship. From my perspective, true horsemanship starts with being open-minded, having patience, and a desire to understand each individual horse's true uniqueness. It also becomes a way of life and a commitment not only for yourself but for your horse so that you can become not just two individuals working but become a team that works together as one. This, I believe, begins with a few basic methods starting with respect, controlling your emotions and realizing that with each horse comes a different personality - just like people. Some have natural talent in certain things - some don't; some have more patience and are more willing to cooperate - some aren't; some can take a lot of pressure - some can't. It's your responsibility to understand your horse enough to see just what kind of personality is there for you to discover. This is what I truly believe makes a strong foundation towards what we are looking for in true horsemanship. My ultimate goal for you, as a horse owner, is for you to become a part of your horse and your horse a part of you. Once this goal is met, the results are endless . . . Shane
